The FCC has officially declared the FCC to be complete fucktards by tossing out the frivolous lawsuit against all CBS stations that happened to air Boobgate during the 2004 Super Bowl.
“The airing of scripted indecency or indecent material in prerecorded programming would likely show recklessness, or may even constitute evidence of actual knowledge or intent,” the judges wrote. “But when unscripted indecent material occurs during a live or spontaneous broadcast, as it did here, the FCC should show that the broadcaster was, at minimum, reckless in causing the indecent material to be transmitted over public airwaves.”
Kick. Fucking. Ass. And if it’s on live TV, you can apparently show it, too.
Suck it, FCC!
Incidentally, I saw the clip live and not once did I see Janet’s boob. My dad and I were extremely upset by this the next morning when we saw the slo-mo footage of it on Faux News. We were all, “What? We saw it! And yet we didn’t see it!”
