I received product for this review from Crowdtap. All opinions are my own unless otherwise attributed.

I never thought I would need SAM in my life until I was given some samples of Poise Microliners to try out. SAM stands for Super Absorbent Material, which Poise claims is the greatest asset of this product. Keep reading to find out about this and how to get these samples for FREE. Yes, FREE.

First of all, ladies – let’s talk. If you’re in your mid-to-late thirties and up, chances are you are noticing changes in the way your bladder is operating. I mean, shoot, I’m sitting here right now needing to go to the toilet and I swear I just went five minutes ago! What is happening?! Am I going to be able to sit through a movie again? Is this a sign of things to come?

Yes. What Poise is now calling Light Bladder Leakage (LBL) is what is commonly known as “incontinence.” Now, I thought this was saved for older ladies, but apparently one in three women have this! And it happens for a lot of reasons – stress, weight, urinary tract infections – it’s pretty much impossible to home in on one reason.

So Poise has put out some new products for those of us who are experiencing the beginnings of or a possible future of LBL. They’re called Poise Microliners, they are so much thinner than period pads it’s unbelievable, and they have this feature called Super Absorbent Material (SAM) that claims to hold it in when you find yourself coughing and suddenly have that urge to go.

I decided to put SAM to the test. I mean, come on, I’ve been doing this lady-business stuff for 25 years, so I know the product claims for pads and liners and how far-fetched many of them can be. You can’t fool me, SAM!

I decided to try the Poise Long Liner, which claims to have “very light absorbency.” Let’s see what they mean here.

As you can see, this thing is slimmer than the most simple men’s wallet.  Let’s go for size. Check it out in comparison to my hand. I have normal-sized hands for reference.

I decided to put SAM to the Strawberry Lemonade test. I made up some Low-Calorie strawberry lemonade and filled the measuring cup up to about 1/3 of a cup.

I poured and poured and poured. I tried to get as much of SAM as I could.

I mean, this pad was FULL of strawberry lemonade. FULL OF IT. I tried turning it upside down; nothing came out. I carried it around the house; nothing came out. This is absorbent in so many ways.

When I was done, I still had about 1/8 of a cup of strawberry lemonade left. For “very light absorbency,” I think that’s actually pretty dang good, and I know is a LOT better than ANY period pad I have ever tried in my life.

I have ONE tip for this: These liners have a very adhesive material. While it’s easy to remove from your undies, the material can stick to itself. So please be careful when you are trying these out.

You can receive a FREE Poise Microliner Starter Kit just like the one I did. U.S. and Canadian residents can also print coupons for these products here.

So, what are you waiting for! Put SAM to the test for yourself.
