Review and giveaway: éclos Anti-Aging Skin Care system #EclosBeauty

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of éclos Skin Care for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Eclos_StarterKit.jpg Thankfully, I was born with a family with good skin. My grandmother looks like my mom's younger sister, and we've never had to be pulled or nipped or tucked to make our faces tighter.

Those signs of aging my family does have are remembrances of how expressive my family is. Laugh lines? That means there's a lot of smiling and laughing in my family. I'm sure my penchant for using my eyebrows to express myself will somehow turn into "signs of aging."

I'm 34 years old, and I haven't seen too many signs yet. Still, there are traits that concern me, such as the corners of my lips turning down and making lipstick application difficult, as well as dark circles under my eyes. I consider my eyes to be among my greatest features, so I do like them to look their best. So there are some concerns that are looming as I approach my 40s.

I had the opportunity to try out the éclos Skin Care Anti-Aging skin care system. It's six different items, all touting "High-Potency Plant Stem Cells," that promise "cellular rejuvenation." The stem cells are from a rare Swiss apple that, according to éclos, "show tremendous ability to stimulate skin cells, encouraging aging skin to behave like younger skin."

Already, my skeptic's radar goes off. See, I'm more of a two-to-three-step skin-care kinda gal. Wash the face, add moisturizer, use benzoyl peroxide if necessary. I also have heard over years and years that no topical skin care treatment will produce lasting results. However, I can also see the imporance of using skin care products for the same reason we put product on our hair: It makes us look good when we go outside, and does protect us from being frizzled and frazzled by the elements.

Here's the thing about the stem cells: I asked my friend and Bellesouth biochemistry analyst Jim, who explained to me that when it comes to stem cells, it really doesn't work between species for, say, plant cells to help activate human cells. So could the stem cell thing be marketing? Still, I don't know.

I tried all the products in this package – even the headband, which surprisingly kept my wild, curly hair in place. I loved the Facial Cleanser Skin Prep, because it was extremely gentle and didn't leave any residue on my skin like drug-store variety cleansers often can.

Next I tried the Instant Radiance facial scrub. think the skin is extremely delicate and doesn't need some heavy exfoliation. The second ingredient in the scrub is salt, which I use to exfoliate my skin, but it leaves my face kind of grainy. Also, I got a salty taste in my mouth after I rinsed off. Fortunately, it wasn't as harsh as some exfoliants I've used on my face, so my skin didn't feel completely scraped off after I tried it.

The moisture therapy regenerative cream was also really nice as a night cream,  but its main ingredient after water and glycerin is Olive Oil. Would it be cheaper or more productive to just put olive oil on your face? A lot of people are using it as moisturizer, after all. There are also other spice-rack ingredients in the cream, such as rosemary, chamomile, Vitamin E and green tea. So you might have the ingredients for this cream right in your own kitchen!

However, those ingredients also get my allergies working, and miraculousy, none of the products in this kit had any strong fragrances, did not irritate my skin at all, and caused no adverse reactions. I have very sensitive skin, so this is a MAJOR plus for me.

The one thing I think worked was the Restorative Eye Cream. I frequently suffer dark circles, use concealer more than any other form of makeup, and it's been a thorn in my side ever since I can remember. Here's me after a few treatments. What do you think?
