I was given product in exchange for an honest review.
I don’t think I’ve seen a lantern in my home for at least 25 years. We had a giant fluorescent lantern that we used for camping in the yard, vacations or power outages. For safety reasons, I knew it was time to get a lantern again, so I was glad when I was given the chance to review the AYL Starlight 350 Lantern from Accessorize Your Life.
The best thing about this lantern is probably the size. Even though it’s small, it produces a good amount of light, and you don’t need much storage space for it when it’s not in use.
The disappointment I had – and this is my second AYL item to review – is that, again, it lacked batteries. I will always say this – I like being able to use my items right out of the box – and I did have to take an extra trip to outfit this lantern.
I shot a video in our yard to show you how this light works. It has three settings: One is a standard setting, the second is a brighter setting, and the final one is a strobe/flash setting, which would come in REALLY handy if you were on a camping trip and needed to send out a distress signal. Unfortunately, the video didn’t capture the differences in the first two settings, but you will definitely see the third. It may be a little hard on the eyes!
This is most certainly an advancement in the world of camping equipment. But not only that, one really should keep a lantern around for a power outage. So I really do recommend this – but when you order it from Amazon, be sure to order three D batteries as well!
