This previously-sponsored post could have violated Google’s TOS

The prior content of this post, a lovely review for See’s Candies has been deleted by the administrator (me).  The company that asked me to write this post, Blogsvertise, refused to let me write a sponsored post without a “nofollow” tag. Even though this blatantly is in violation of Google’s rules regarding paid links.

I am not going to put my blog in jeopardy because of Blogsvertise’s desires to cheat the system. I took the ‘Blog With Integrity’ pledge and I intend to keep it that way.

Blogsvertise wanted me to break the rules. I’m not going to do it.

I also still love See’s Candies and hope their PR team picks a better company to work with. I think Mama See would have wanted it that way.

I definitely agree that if you go the chocolate route, you had better not get one of those samplers you see at the checkout line, and getting something in a decorative or nice looking box is always a plus. As a son, I’d have to say that chocolate isnt the only route to go, though. I think the biggest thing is to show that you’ve put a little thought into the gift, no matter what you give. My mom loves the beach and things associated with it like dolphins, seashells, and Pelicans, so I ususally go with jewelry based around those things.

Definitely not the -only- route to go, but often a sure-fire way if you can’t think of anything else. I can’t reveal what I’m getting my mom this year, but it will be reflective of her style and personality.
