It’s less than an hour before midnight, I’m snuggled in my bed, surrounded by red sheets and a matching red comforter. What better time to discuss passion?
Everyone has a passion that feeds their creativity. For some it is writing, for some it is fixing cars or researching history, and for some it is making things. I’ve delved in a lot of those and at times, some of those were my passion.
While Haagen-Dazs’s passion is, of course, Ice Cream, they know that everyone has a passion for something. That’s why Haagen-Dazs is pleased to bring you new episodes of the PASSION PROFILES, an original online series featuring some of Canada’s most intriguing personalities.
PASSION PROFILES is a talk-show that takes a unique and rare glimpse at the authentic and demanding passions that define some of Canada’s finest Chefs, Designers and Musicians. The show promises to intrigue, inspire and entertain.
Hosted by ET Canada’s Cheryl Hickey, PASSION PROFILES will take you into the lives of Canada’s most entertaining personalities. She will bring the best out in the guests with stories from their lives and insights to inspire viewers. With her own passion for entertainment, style and people, Cheryl’s years of experience will enable her to get up close and personal with some of the hottest names around.
If I were on the show, I’d definitely show my passion for cooking. Cooking has given me an outlet to show friends and family how much I care, and it allows me to be creative, add new twists on old favorites and share something I have made with love to the ones I love.
My mother is going into surgery Monday to have her gall bladder removed. A family friend and her 8-year-old daughter will come in Sunday evening to help out, so mom and I are planning on a special dinner that includes a favorite recipe I’ll be happy to share with you.
1 C Breadcrumbs
3 Tbs Worcestershire Sauce
1-2 Tsp Salt
3/4 C Milk
1 16 oz Can Tomato Sauce
1/2 Tsp Pepper
1 Tbs Sugar
1 small jar, sliced mushrooms, drained
2 lbs Ground Round
Mix milk and eggs, add breadcrumbs, meat, tomato sauce, spices, and mushrooms. Put in 11/13 dish. Cook at 350 for 30 minutes. Mix 3/4 C Ketchup and 1/4 C syrup (Mrs. Butterworth’s). Drain grease from meatloaf. Top with sauce. Cook 30 more minutes at 350.
We’ll likely serve the meatloaf with some green beans and crescent rolls – maybe some baked or mashed potatoes, too. Who knows?
Food Network TV stars Anna and Michael Olsen will be airing on the first episode of PASSION PROFILES on July 28, 2010.
